FAQ's

- Does my underfloor cavity require a GMB for HH compliance?

A GMB is required if the subfloor space is enclosed, i.e. airflow is obstructed along 50% or more of the perimeter of the space. Many properties have subfloor perimeter cladding like baseboards. Should the gap between baseboards be greater than 20mm, the cavity is considered sufficiently ventilated and won’t require a ground moisture barrier.

What materials and method do you use?

We install ground moisture barriers to NZS4246:2016 standards, and use high quality 250um polythene rolls, galvanised ground staples and PVC tape.

I’ve got rubbish and belongings under the house?

Ideally belongings and rubbish to be removed before install. That said, our unit rate includes a complimentary provision to shift & repile belongings, rubbish & debris. Anything signficant may incur a (reasonable) labour surcharge.

My underfloor cavity slopes and/or has large mounds, depressions, etc

No problem for us, we’ve seen it all. We always ensure 100% functionality but please note difficult terrain will affect asethetics.

How much does it cost to get a Ground Moisture Barrier installed?

We install ground moisture barriers for $7.50 - $10/m2 (including material cost, install cost and GST)
